In the 80s there was alot here in UK but the day they were new they were 20 years behind a SCANIA 142. Thank goodness we dont see US trucks here in UK now even A.A.F.E.S at USAF Mildenhall have SCANIA 114s

@CreRay SCANIA'S don't need preheaters or excess fuel to be used at -3 . Last winter here in UK it got to never know before temperatures of - 17 and our 111 and 112 started with just full throttle and turn of the key. You are maybe thinking of a volvo !

Some eaton 13 speeds are overdrive with a gearlever top with one switch 2 positions like a twinslitter and a forward top gear , but underdrive ones like Iveco use have a two switch top enableing you only to split the high range gears, which box is most common in the US
