Lyric:
Got to say "Hello ! ", It's a lucky day ! Kiss the moon "goodbye ", And be on our way !
It's a lucky day, Cause I found you ! Gonna build a New world around you ! Touch the sun and run, It's a lucky day !
Hello life ! *Goodbye Columbus I've got a feeling that You're gonna hear from us You're gonna know That we've taken The world by surprise Got that look in our eyes
It's a lucky day ! Just for changing, Leaving the old world behind Lucky day ! for walking a new road, Just to clear your mind
It's a day for starting a new way Telling the old one goodbye Lucky day for getting above it Spread your wings and fly
Hello life ! * Repeat
It's a lucky day ! * Repeat
It's a lucky day ! Yeah, yeah... Goodbye, goodbye Columbus Goodbye, goodbye Columbus...

Three Dog Night - Mama told me not to come 1970
Want some whiskey in your water Sugar in your tea What's all these crazy questions they askin' me This is the craziest party there could ever be Don't turn on the lights, 'cause I don't want to see
Mama told me not to come, oh lord Mama told me not to come She said, That ain't the way to have fun, no
Open up the window Let some air into this room I think I'm almost chokin' From the smell of stale perfume
And that cigarette you're smoking 'Bout scared me half to death Open up the window, sucker Let me catch my breath
Mama told me not to come, oh lord Mama told me not to come She said, that ain't the way to have fun, son That ain't the way to have fun, son
(Instrumental)
The radio is blastin' Someone's knocking at the door I'm lookin' at my girlfriend She's passed out on the floor
I seen so many things I ain't never seen before I don't know what it is somebody shut that door
Mama told me not to come, oh lord Mama told me not to come She said, that ain't the way to have fun, son That ain't the way to have fun, son
Mama told me, mama told me, mama told me Told me, told me That ain't no way to have fun, whoah, yeah yeah Mama told me not to come Mama, mama, mama told me That ain't no way to have fun
That ain't the way to have fun, no That ain't the way to have fun, son That ain't the way to have fun, no That ain't the way to have fun, son
That ain't the way to have fun, no That ain't the way to have fun, son That ain't the way to have fun, no That ain't the way to have fun, son

more
This is a mashup of nearly 40 years of video clips of Blood, Sweat & Tears, from 1969-2008, and features lead vocalist David Clayton-Thomas performing their hit single "And When I Die". The song was among my favorites as a teen and groups such as BS&T, Chase and Chicago inspired me to play the horn. (OMG, has it really been four decades since I bought this on vinyl?)
The video features a clip from BS&T's Woodstock performance, a rare and extended tuba solo by Dave Bargeron (which you won't find on any commercially released version), and brief clips of Clayton-Thomas performing as a solo artist at several venues with, among others, the dynamic jazz-fusion group Tower Of Power. Jerry Fisher, who succeeded Clayton-Thomas as lead singer (1972-74), makes a brief appearance during Bargeron's tuba solo but does not sing.
Although Clayton-Thomas was not an original founding member of BS&T, it was during his tenure the group became commercially successful. "And When I Die" was one of several hit singles from Blood, Sweat & Tears' self-titled second album (1969) and was among several songs the group recorded that was written by the late Laura Nyro, one of the most talented songwriters of the 1960s. Incidentally, in the lead-in to the song Clayton-Thomas recalls an early encounter with Nyro, bassist Jim Fielder's girlfriend at the time, and how he was turned onto the song "And When I Die". It had previously been recorded by Nyro herself, and enjoyed limited success as a Peter, Paul & Mary single. The commercial and critical acclaim enjoyed by the band in 1969 culminated in an appearance at the Woodstock Festival.
