This historical video was recently re-discovered after being lost for many years. It was produced in 1972 and is believed to be the world's first computer-generated 3D animation. It was created by Ed Catmull, a true pioneer of 3D technology, who was a computer scientist at the University of Utah (birthplace of the famous Utah teapot.) If the name sounds familiar, it's because a few years later he was one of the founders of Pixar.

A selection of photographs that David Barbour produced between 1972 and 2012 in Canada, United States and Europe. The photographs document the evolution in his personal work and capture moments that document daily life found primarily on the street. Throughout his career he has balanced assignments, teaching and personal projects. Highlights include a World Press Award in 1985 for a photograph he produced for CIDA in Egypt and a Mid-Career Canada Council Grant in 1999 to continue his work in Havana. He has produced three other slide shows on YouTube, including Looking for Castro, Home and CIDA 1984-1994, which together is a selection of his best work produced over the last 40 years.
Document highlights the progression in his work and how composition, quality of light, pre-visualization and speed has improved his overall imagery. He teaches photography at SPAO in Ottawa and offers workshops in Introduction to Digital Photography, Street Work, Night Photography and travel courses to Havana. He is available for assignments and workshops in all locations.
You can view his personal and commercial work at www.davidbarbour.com
All of these photographs were exposed on Kodak Tri-X film, with Leica M4or M6 film cameras, 35mm or 28mm Leitz lenses and Rollei Twin or Mamiya 6 2 1/4 cameras. All the negatives are scanned on an Epson Scanner. His exhibition prints are printed in a darkroom on Ilford Multi-Contrast Warm Tone fiber paper. The slide show was produced in IPhoto with a Apple computer. A brief video from inside a Vauxhall Firenza with 2.3 OHC engine. Noisy, but amazing fun!

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. ~ Lewis B. Smedes
Most of us carry around anger, resentment, jealousy, or some other negative emotion directed to others. Unless dealt with, they will eventually start to broadly affect the quality of our lives and those around us.
Forgiveness is the act of unchaining yourself from thoughts and feelings that bind you to an offense, imagined or real, committed against you. It is a commitment to a process of growth and change. The first step is to recognize the value of forgiveness and the positive impact it can have in our lives. When we forgive, we release the control and power of the offending person and stop playing the victim. We no longer define our lives by how we have been hurt and instead can define ourselves by how we have grown.
Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were. ~ Cherie Carter-Scott

"Well I met him today in west van on my way to Squamish, I gave him 10 bucks for his cd, he seemed decent enough, and he looked like he needed the ten bucks and when i got in the car and saw the title I thought I could definitely use some "understanding love" right now... but just my luck the cd won't play in the car and my computer reads it as blank... Randy if you are out there make sure your cd's play or have music on them. "
