Tissa is a Dancehall artist that blends Urban Afro Beat with Reggae,Hip Hop,Rnb flavours and various styles of sounds taking you to a journey from the ocean beach sands of Mombasa to across the World.
His newest album titled "Physically Fit" is an interestingly articulated mixture of different ingredients. Physically Fit is a free-spirited album Produced between Africa and Europe. The album features a large number of East African and international household musicians such as Wyre, Nameless, Risasi, german rapper PTah and top producers such as R Kay, Musyoka among others.Physically Fit is an album for all the club scene lovers and even for those who at times love to wind down and kick back and let their spontaneous sides take over. The album is truly feel the music, feel the vibes a high carat which distinguishes Tissa's skills, with a sensational sound for everybody.
Cloud Tissa developed a passion for music at an early age of 13 years writing his first song titled "Heshima" meaning "Respect" in swahili. Early on it was apparent that Tissa had his heart set on music. Not long after he picked the microfone at his first public appearance in a rap talent battle in Nairobi, winning the competition despite the fact that it was his first time ever singing in public. Numerous prizes were bestowed on him and it was then that Tissa knew he could move a crowd and that music was his vehicle. However Tissa felt the real prize was that he found his lifes calling and ever since then he has never looked back.
In 1998 Tissa released his first single "Laumu" meaning "Blame" in swahili at a tender age of 15 years and increased his involvement in a television program dubbed as Mizizi which propelled his single to no. 1 and stayed on the top 10 for two months on the charts.
After once again raising his level of achievement, Tissa teamed up with Rufftone and Eddy and released a track called "Its Up 2 U" that took the airwave by storm rising to number 1 on the charts of the Metro Fm countdown following up to some air play on BBC Radio and other stations. Tissa appeared in many gigs and concerts and toured with one of Africa's brightest female stars, Sali Oyugi, perfoming with the Hot Road Band which was made of top musicians like Kidum among others.
After conquering the East African charts, the Kenyan raised Rwandese set his sights on other markets and released his first album called "1st Chapter" that featured songs like Sunshine Lady which its Video won the airwave in Africa and one of the very few Swahili songs to be aired in Europe Radio and Television stations. Others include Ngoma, Dusk till Dawn, Light it up among others.
In the past years, Cloud Tissa has done work with many great artists such as Dunkelbunt,Coup de Bam,Femi "Soultans", Rens Newland, Prince Zeka, One Soul Band and many more. He is indeed expanding the boundaries of music with his unique artistic style and has extended his creative skills in directing and editing music videos for himself and other artists such as 3gga feat.Million Stylez, Coolio, Stela feat.Warren G, Hoerspiel Crew and many more.
At his height of the career the Mellow Dee voice musician has appeared in different major shows and shared stages with internationally renowned artistes like The Wailers, Third World, Patrice, Alpha Blondy, Lucky Dube and many more.
