@itsGoboboy My buddy claims it sounds like a modded JCM 800 man.

@Visualundeath Yep that's been my experience as well. The Duncans are beefier but the EMG's have more tolerable cleans on a high gain amp.

@jonesey5168 No way man. He was with them when they were wrote that. They were young, and full of hope and gonna conquer the world, which they all endup doing. The songs they wrote and performed are etched in his mind you can be sure!

@ZEPj6blacklabel Scrape up $600 bucks and pick up a Peavey 6505 combo. You'll have no more use for these kind of pedals! You can pick one up for even less used.

I definetly prefer using 6L6's over the stock tubes. I found the amp way too shrill but I rocks like a Marshall with a screamer and or distortion pedals.

Amazing cleans man! Doesn't sound like a metal amp to me though. I've got a 6505 and the gain is much more brutal.

Man George could have really used a boost pedal of some sort for his solo.

@raymarshjr Yes before the massive ass sellout! Playing ballads for 14yr old girls and releasing over produced pop records ugh!! For a short time they were rough and ready and had a great hard rock sound and swagger. Big letdown, glad to see I'm not the only one who felt that way.

Chill, man. I knew they use Mesa (and theres alot more than just Mesa amps to their sound), it was the logo on the cabs that reminded me of Diezel.

Out of tune a little my weird haired axemman! Good review though, I have this pedal, use it as a boost.
