Left Arm at the Top of the Backswing
http://www.peakperformanceg... In this tip I talk about the left arm position at the top of the backswing.

With all due respect, I'm not sure how you can have that opinion.
Many great golfers (notably Els) have dead straight left arms going back.
But many don't. I'm not so sure I'd go up to Fred Couples and tell him his technique is bullshit.

Shawn - great and critical clip here. In the pursuit of width, I have become fixated on a super straight left arm going back - similar to Els, who is nearly hyper-extended. All I seem to doing is adding tension to the arm unit, which results in "holding on" to the whole damn thing into impact and...

Very interesting discussion here. I won't weigh in on specifics, but I agree with Jim's general premise: There's no single perfect swing, nor does there have to be. I happen to LOVE much of what I've learned from TGM, and I also found Clampett's emphasis on impact position to be spot-on. Truth is...

It's going well. I know this swing is not really a proper acquired motion (lots of manipulations), but my goal is the flat left wrist. I actually need to get back to this though, because with full swing I've been getting stuck between an overly strong grip and blocking ...

Great clip. I started late in life and after shoulder surgery I'm using this opportunity to re-build my swing from the ground up. A descending angle to impact is the whole ballgame - you aren't going anywhere if you're losing the flat left wrist at impact. Are you an adherent of the TGM school? ...

I'm a little unclear on the slap release. How is this executed without significant breakdown of the left elbow (chicken wing) and possibly loss of a flat left wrist at impact as well? Would love to see a slow mo clip of an actual swing using this technique. Thanks!

Misleading title. "Hands ahead of the ball" refers to impact, not address. Nothing in this clip is wrong per se, but this info is a little....useless, to be honest. Set up however you want - the moment of truth is impact, where your hands do indeed want to be ahead of the ball for most shots (wi...

I'm not really qualified to say, but looks pretty good to me. My only comment would be to hold your extensor pressure a bit longer through the impact zone. You're kind of giving up at the end of the follow through instead of holding that little finish.
Otherwise - looks pretty good!
