As I've not started working on my RG RX-78-2 yet, though I will very soon, I can only speculate but I think that the design of the inner frame using a skeletal core structure with additional components attached to it during a process of building up the model will work just as well with smaller Mobile Suits such as the V and F91. For the larger MS designs, I think that it comes down to the inherent joint strength, which I hope to soon explore with the RG RX-78-2.

I think 1/144 HG kits combine the traits you mentioned for sure. Additionally, with the increasing detail of sculpting that Bandai is implementing in their 1/144 HG kits, we are seeing sharply detailed kits at a smaller scale. What was once a trait I attributed mainly to Kotobukiya, I now see in Bandai's "bread and butter" model product, which is the HG line. We then see it brought to another level in the RG kit.

I apologize for my late response! I've been busy working, as usual, and for some reason Youtube's notification system didn't tell me that my channel received some new comments.

Now I must say that I agree with your assessment of the issues that larger scales, specifically 1/100, of gunpla deal with. It goes very much the same way with action figures, which are usually much more dense and weighty than model kits. It's a great point that I wish I had the presence of mind to mention during my video on the preference of sizes of models/action figures.

I'm quite pleased to see that the Hi-Metal VF-1S with Strike Parts isn't a Tamashii Web exclusive! Maybe I should review the VF-1J first and then Play Arts Kai Naked Snake as more and more people have been asking about the VF-1J.

I'm happy to see the ReZEL get a MG kit. The Jegan would be nice too but I think the HGUC kit is great and while the ReZEL also has a good HGUC kit, it's a partsformer so I a MG kit with true transformation is just fine with me.
