December is here - time for some good cheer.
The family close by, dropping in to say Hi!
Good friends around - sweet songs abound.
Gifts we will receive - time to care and believe.
Only once a year, this feeling we hold dear.
Memories of the year past - moments to last.
I've cherished our time and in this rhyme,
Warm Wishes to you I send, my dear friend.

We Who Have Plenty
Passing by to leave a greeting, a few words,
as on the wings of the Great Speckled Bird.
As friends ready themselves in Thanksgiving,
we all need to slow down and pray for the living.
For we are truly the fortunate ones, blessed daily,
but riding on that merry-go-round painted so gaily.
As we partake of our bounty, let us pause, reflect
and remember less fortunate souls with respect.
They don't ride the painted ponies; riding the rails
is certainly no comparison as our liquid life pales.
Generous gifts, soon to be wrapped in pretty paper,
a flaming fire, windows streaked with water vapour.
Jack Frost will visit, a fresh layer of snow, 10 below;
many poor souls will be looking for a hot cup of joe.
When passing by say hello in there - say you care,
then ask them if they have warm clothes to wear.
There but for fortune go you or I - so give it a try.
We who have plenty, share, for the season is nigh.
