CIVIC is an organization of change makers who care about war victims and understand the depth of human suffering that always accompanies armed conflict.

We listen to the survivors and then speak on their behalf - engaging the public, media and policy makers to think deeper about war's human costs. By urging warring parties in particular conflicts to make amends to survivors, we believe we can systematically change the outcome of war for civilians making sure that in the future all survivors receive the help they deserve.

We travel to conflicts gathering stories, to help ordinary people understand the impact of war on individuals like themselves. We encourage the press to look beyond the headlines to recognize and portray individual stories and focus on the human ramifications of conflict. We assess the structures in place providing aid to survivors and suggest ways for warring parties and the people with power to help where they've harmed.
