City Riots have a kicked many musical goals since their inception. J play? Check. SXSW? Check. CMJ? Check. Toured the country with a massive international band? Check. For this indie-pop band, this is only the beginning.

When brothers Ricky and Dan Kradolfer began turning their parents' formal dining room into a band rehearsal space almost three years ago, their goal was to put Adelaide back on the musical map. With Matt Edge and Matt Stadler completing the current line up, said dining room has hosted few dinner parties since.

Their enticing pop charm was revealed in late 2008, with the release of their debut EP Socialize. Lead single 'Burning Me Out' caught the attention of national broadcaster triple j resulting in festival spots on Playground Weekender and Push Over.

The momentum from their first release and an uncanny friend of a friend connection landed City Riots in Chicago in mid 2009 recording tracks with producer Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins, Dandy Warhols). Four months later, they returned to Australia, with the trip spawning their next triple j single 'She Never Wants to Dance' amongst a collection pop gems.

After showing such potential, City Riots continued to deliver. 2010 saw the addition of SXSW as well as Aussie BBQ shows in Los Angeles, New York and Austin to the already impressive resume of the band. They didn't neglect Australia though, as they toured the country alongside true-indie rockers British India, as well as WA up-and-comers The Chemist.

2010 rounded out with City Riots being the only Australian band on the bill for Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Festival in LA with the likes of White Lies and The Black Lips, the national support for Smashing Pumpkins' Australian tour on top of another trip to the US to play the CMJ Music Marathon in New York.

Over a year after returning from Chicago, the perfectionists in the band, made the decision to remix their work a little more locally with producer Paul 'Woody' Annison (Children Collide, Red Riders) at Red Door Studios in Melbourne.

With Australia a focus for the year ahead, City Riots have already laid a solid foundation upon their return to the scene, kicking off 2011 with a massive Australian tour opening for previous touring buddies British India and Boy in a Box.

City Riots' new single package 'In My Head' is now available online through iTunes. It also features 'She Never Wants Top Dance' and previously unreleased track 'Stupid Questions'. City Riots continue to show off their wares nationally as they support burgeoning Brisbane band Ball Park Music on their first headline tour this July.
