The Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,

I once heard a story of a Confederate officer who had the unfortunate task of informing the family's of fallen soldiers of their relatives death. One day he visited a little old lady who had just lost the 3rd of of her 4 sons to yankee gunfire, when the elderly woman recieved the news, she immediately responded that she wished for the officer to take her only remaining son to fight in the cause of Southern Independence, she said that her only regret was that she had only 4 sons to fight in the cause. The officer was silent, turned his head to the sky and his response was...They can never subdue a nation as this!
