Vol 1., Texas Super 8 Massacre - Austin Cinemaker Coop
Texas Super 8 Massacre was the first, juried compilation tape consisting of the Best of 1997 films. These films were selected from a large number of entries we received throughout the year. Cinemaker was based on the Super 8 film format and its specialty was in-camera edited silent films shot on one roll of film and screened in its original format. Films were exhibited with separate, original soundtracks - near in-sync.
We also introduced a standard for submitting films in order to avoid technical problems at projections but also to limit the timeframe and make filmmaking more planned.
A 4x4 film is:
1. shot on Super 8 film
2. edited in-camera (max 4 min. projection time, max 4 splices)
3. accompanied by original soundtrack
4. started with a 5 second countdown (shot on film or written onto the film leader)

Vol 3., Fast Cheap Prophesies - Austin Cinemaker Coop
Fast Cheap Prophesies was the third, juried compilation tape consisting of the Best of 1998 and 1999 films.
These films were selected from a large number of entries we received throughout these two years. Cinemaker was based on the Super 8 film format and its specialty was in-camera edited silent films shot on one roll of film and screened on its original format. Films were exhibited with separate, original soundtracks - near in-sync.

Splice of Life was the fourth, juried compilation tape consisting of the Best of 2000 films. These films were selected from a large number of entries we received throughout the year. Cinemaker was based on the Super 8 film format and its specialty was in-camera edited silent films shot on one roll of film and screened in its original format. Films were exhibited with separate, original soundtracks - near in-sync.

Vol 6., Dee Montgomery Award
Dee Montgomery Award was given to the filmmakers of this compilation tape in 2002 - most of them are long associated with Cinemaker.
Dee Montgomery Award is given by filmmakers to filmmakers who work in the spirit of Dee Montgomery one of the seven person crew most involved with making Austin's seminal film venture: Slacker.
The video material was curated by Katie Cokinos. and the Award screening was produced Katie and Barna Kantor.
