The ending of the quiz show sketch was sad too. They've to two sad endings. Don't overdo it!

The egg that would become the first chicken came from something that was almost a chicken, but not quite. A series of tiny changes in successive generations lead to the very slow, eventual development of the chicken.

I should add, I'm not a native speaker, but I am Irish. So my pronunciation is correct but my grammar might not be perfect. As such, I'm hesitant to correct your grammar. All I can say is that I would have phrased a lot of that differently. But maybe its not wrong, just not how I personally would...

Some tips for Irish: "duit" is pronounced [duitch] because the "t" is following a slender vowel. Thank you both. I am studying translation now at undergraduate level (Japanese to English) and it's nice to get a glimpse of what might be in store for me. I winder though, if I learn a number of languages and have no official qualification in them, but have a translation degree, could I get work...

USHIRO is not a preposition in Japanese. It's a noun. That's where the problem is I think. The same with NAKA. Think of USHIRO as "the behind area" and NAKA as "the interior/ inside portion" and it may become clearer.

@benblue4 At least L and M contain the sounds they make in their names. "aytch" doesn't, unless of course you pronounce it "haytch" like I do!!!

Estonian is also non-Indo-european.
