all airlines had very good commercials back in the 60s and 70s,today thers nothing but car commercials.i really miss those days of the 707,dc8 ,.the golden age of aviation .it was a great time to fly,but people still complained,about the food,and miner things compared to today.

I GREW UP IN THE 50S AND REMEMBER THE BEGINING OF THE JET AGE.IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES FOR ME CAUSED I LOVE AVIATION. ALL THE AIRLINES THIS COUNTRY HAD AND NOW WE:RE DOWN TO A HAND FULL. HAD 34 YEARS AT UNITED AND IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES UNTIL MY JOB GOT OUTSOURSED.

the 727 was designed after the french caravelle with the rear engines.united was the only us airline to fly the french jet.it opened up a lot of airports to the jet age back in 1960-61.the caravelle was like a rocket when it took off.
