I became mayor of New Hopeville, Iowa, a city of 46,886, by beating my nearest opponent in a steel cage match. The result of the election saw us in a virtual tie and the city charter called for either a duel with pistols or an ultimate fighting match. We chose the latter. Ryan Moreland, my opponent, put up a courageous battle, but had to concede when he lost one of his eyes. My only injury was--and still is-- the loss of feeling on the right side of my face. I'm doing a good job as mayor and hope to be elected for a second term.
