Good question. To be honest, I only heard it played twice on a country western station in North Carolina in the mid 1980's. I may have gotten the singers mixed up as there was a singer who sounded similar to Mr. Ward---his name escapes me at the moment. Oh wait now it is coming to me Gene Wats...
