I heard him play this live in 1986 in Indiana. In this performance, he ends much more impatiently. Just an observation, not a critique. The technique is unfailing and unmatched, as always. Brings back nice memories.

Astounding technique, brilliant sound. He makes this diabolical piece actually sound easy.

Only Horowitz truly creates the illusion of three-handed playing (upon the third statement of the theme). Why is it that no one else properly creates this illusion? Is Horowitz so much superior to every one else?
