Chris founded the Giltspur Singers in the autumn of 2003. The choir performs mainly in and around London. Repertoire ranges from medieval music to contemporary pieces; and the choir sings in several languages.

The Giltspur Singers' Spring Concert. The programme will feature the world premieres of the winning pieces from the 2011 Recital Music Composing Competition. The pieces are by Josh Hummel (USA) and Alan Smith (UK). Also in the programme: motets by Flemish masters of the Renaissance and partsongs by C20th English composers. Christopher Maxim will perform his Three Pieces Founded on Welsh Hymn-Tunes on the new Tickell organ.
