Mercy Mercy Mercy Piano Lesson - Rootless Left Hand Voicings - Sus Chords chrismarx85 - 831 views - 1 week ago
http://www.fastpianolessons.co m for the free Chords 101 ebook!

This Version of Mercy Mercy Mercy goes along with a lesson handout that you can get from the fastpianolessons blog on the blog post with this video. The hand out has notation for voicings I'm using in the first version.

There is a part two in this video where I play Mercy Mercy Mercy with a bassline in the left hand and chords and melody combined in the right hand.

The trick to combining the chords and melody in the right hand is to always make the melody note the highest note. Keeping the melody on top helps it ring out. If its in the middle of the chord, it gets hidden and masked.

Sliding Off the Black Notes - Grace notes and Blues Notes - Chords 101 chrismarx85 - 1,417 views - 1 month ago
http://fastpianolessons.com for the Chords 101 course and the rest of the videos! Plus help from me on the blog :)

This is a really cool trick you won't find in classical music! Jazz, Blues and Country music thrive on these quick grace notes though. It's really pretty easy if you use the right fingering.. so this lesson shouldn't take you longer than 3 or 4 minutes to watch and then practice!

On major chords slide off the flat 3rd.
On minor chords you want to slide off the sharp fourth note.
There isn't much else to add other than that!

Check out the blog for some of the blue scale notation examples.

KEY POINTS FROM THIS VIDEO:

*KEEP all your thick chords in the middle of the piano.

*As you get lower, you have to space the notes out more.

Easy Patterns for Piano Accompaniment - Play and Sing - Chords 101 chrismarx85 - 2,206 views - 1 month ago
http://fastpianolessons.com for the Chords 101 course and other lessons!
Learn how to accompany yourself in under 3 minutes. These patterns are REALLY easy. They work the best when you're reading and singing from a Fake book or lead sheet.

Here are the three basic ways I accompany myself on piano when I'm singing.

LRLR or LRR LRR for 3/4 time songs where you count 123 123.
This is good when you want the music to be uplifting or create some rhythms to dance to.

BLLL BLLL good for rock stuff

HOLD for 4 beats - Good for jazz and ballads. or if you are just learning a song and trying to get the hang of playing and singing it.

If you get these basic patterns down, its really easy to add a little variation in the rhythms to create a lot of new vocabulary for your playing.

Ray Charles - Everyday I Have The Blues - Advanced Blues Licks in Bb Piano Lesson chrismarx85 - 3,027 views - 1 month ago
http://fastpianolessons.com for some more great blues licks!

This was a paid request! It covers the first 15 seconds of Ray Charles version of Everyday I Have The Blues. Ray Charles plays a really cool piano solo for the first 25 seconds of the recording and then the rest of the band comes in with Ray singing.
The introduction is filled with great blues licks. Learn a few of them and then transpose them to different keys! Take the time to learn one of these licks really well, so it becomes natural.

Clocks by Coldplay on the piano - Easy Rock Piano Patterns chrismarx85 - 7,141 views - 4 months ago
http://www.fastpianolessons.co m for extra help from Chris and the Blog

This version is a little more embellished than a lot of other online lessons for CLOCKS. There are a lot of different things you can do to make it interesting because it is just the same chords over and over again... so that could get kind of boring if you don't change it up!

I think this is in the original key... This is in the key that is comfortable for me to sing in.
So then again its probably not the original key :P

The chords for the
Verse are Ebmin, Bbmin, Abmin
