@LewisAlunWilliams I think a lot of it comes down to the post-WWII changes to judo rules, whereas BJJ branched off from "old school" Kodokan judo well before those changes, and judo not being as high-visibility (other than Hidehiko Yoshida?) as BJJ in MMA thanks to the Gracies.

@irurwurst Better yet, they even have in-universe explanations -- Ezio's growing old AND is not related to Altaïr (so it's not a genetic thing), while Altaïr... didn't ACTUALLY look like he did in AC1's Animus rendition of him. Thank you, Animus as a plot device!
