Bruch was a true master of string compositions; he knew how to tug at the heart . He was once asked why he wrote so much for strings when he himself was a pianist. His answer: "Because the violin can sing." Even more so the viola!!

Well said, Tony! I heartily agree. I understand that the original "Cwm Rhondda" used the Divine name, Jehovah. Sir Harry Secombe has also chosen to use the Name in his version, and so have "Men Only Aloud". I was somewhat disappointed that Katherine Jenkins chose to sing "redeemer". But no matter...

I had this on an LP many years ago and have since searched YouTube many times for it without success. All I got was reference to the film about Delius with the same name. Now today I found the music! Thanks so much for posting it. I love Delius!
