Over 300 Ray Conniff songs on my first 7 playlists, plus 10.000 more songs by similar & diverse artists and the sounds of ANY year back to1900! 'Play All' to hear continuous music for 2-4 hours on most lists while you do other tasks on your computer! Get good speakers with subwoofer - you'll need 'em !
I love orchestral pop ! Raymond Scott is amazing - you MUST hear his playlist to learn more! Leroy Anderson was an incredible composer
/arranger! The sound of the Boston Pops is his legacy. Henry Mancini and Ray Conniff are also favorites. Ironically, they were both heavily influenced by Jazz, a genre that when played with the typical handful of instruments, usually seemed dour or sullen to me. But fully orchestrated Jazz - wow ! ! ! ! Ray & Hank had the Midas touch, each in his own way. Hank wrote numerous tunes which became part of our culture - even today's youth think The Pink Panther Theme is hot stuff! When interest in beautiful music began to wane, Ray preserved it for another whole generation by taking his show to South America up until he died in 2002 at the age of 85. Watch a few of his video performances and see if you don't agree that he was the most dynamic orchestra leader of all!
