About this user

CHiP has been running as an occasional performing unit since the turn of the century. Our hometown is Linköping, Sweden. Nobody in the extended band lives there. I do personally work and study there. CHiP bass player Wilhard Lang was born and raised in Linköping, but Stockholm is his adopted home for just about ever now. He's a popular freelancer, and wasn't available for the 12 May 2007 Elsa's Café interlude reproduced here. Superlative bassist/composer JPW was kind enough to sign-on for this momemt of productive development. Also new to the CHiP crew at this event horizon is Derrick 'Big' Walker (http://bigwalker.us) who has a longtime freelance association with JPW. Both these guys, by the way, are Stockholm friends of Wilhard ... just so you get a little gist of how the extended familial grace of music life can be. As always, Ahmadu Jah (stage: Jarr, www.ahmadujah.com) is aboard on congas, Peter Wagnberg on traps, Fredrik Andersson on solo electric guitar, and yours truely site monitor Dave Maakestad on vocals/rhythm guitar. Do you think I have a good time doing this? You bet I do.
12 May 2007 marks our third CHiP developmental exercise with Elsa's Cafe (www.elsashus.com) which is part of the extended Linköping community of actors in cultural and youth enaction. They put up a great sound system with Göran on the board and the small intimate sober locale makes for a prime opportunity for some guys like us who are spread across hundreds of kilometers of south-eastern Sweden to come together and see what the cards of communicative music making hold.
