Originating from the Big Island of Hawaii, with a blend of reggae, rock, jazz and ska creates BREATH OF FIRE, an energetic and exciting thrilling musical show. BREATH OF FIRE has been influenced by bands like Bob Marley, Sublime, Incubus Steel Pulse, Soja, 311, Pepper & Expendables, as well as classic players including Jimi hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, The Beatles and more. In the Hawaii music scene since 2004 originally as "Buckz Boyz", lead players Jai now (26) & Daniel (21) Rodgers have been rocking on the islands with their Allright Family Band since their childhood. In January 2011 they earned a people's choice Hawaii Music Award for the re-release of the 1977 family album "Music Is Love". This album introduced tunes by Jai & Dan who are eloquent performers, composers and lyricists themselves. As an acoustic duo, Jai & Dan Rodgers' harmonies are reminiscent of the Everly Brothers combined with unforgettable lyrics similar to Simon & Garfunkle. With their whole band, they connect with fans, sharing positive lyrics, interacting with their crowd with their catchy hooks as well as pack a full horn & percussion section --- this makes BREATH OF FIRE completely irresistible and keeps audiences excited to be there for more.
Jai Rodgers (vocals & lead guitarist), Daniel Rodgers (vocals & drummer), Tim Oliver (24) (vocals & bass), Mark Silva (trumpet), Buck Rodgers (trombone), Rico Woltz (guitar), Holly Cone (vocals & ukulele) & Red Eagle (percussion) create a visual and musical sensation wherever they go. "HOT" with 3 sets of originals and dozens of great cover tunes, DVDs have also been archived of their shows for "Star Tracks", an Olelo TV Program.
BREATH OF FIRE has shared appearances on stage opeining for SOJA at Aloha Tower, an inter-island tour with Pato Banton, Ras Danny & Black Uhuru at Pipeline, Natural Vibrations, Ooklah the Moc, BET, Neisian Nine at the State Fair, with John Cruz at Bay Fest & Concert Under the Stars, The Green at the Bob Marley Fest and Rebel Soldiers at UH. They have also performed at private parties and events at Sunset on the Beach, the Hard Rock, the Shack, and the Waikiki Shell on the islands and B.B. Kings @ Universal Studios on the westcoast main land.
BREATH OF FIRE was a finalist at the November 2010 "Mai Tai" Rumble and are frequently at Mai Tais both as an acoustic DUO and as a BAND. In June 2011 they won the MMA Expo Battle of the Bands and will tour Las Vegas, will be recorded, and will be promoted by Hawaii Pacific Entertainment. "Simmer Down" CD is a collection of their favorite originals and is sold online through www.musicthatpays.com, and at their shows. Tunes "Simmer Down", "Genuine" and "Manifest Your Destiny" are on island 98.5 FM radio and online. "Simmer Down" has been very effective as an anti-bullying intervention in many schools, as well. Fifteen new tunes, including "I Got You", "Right From Wrong" & "Love To Share" are ready for a new CD release soon. Breath of Fires main goal is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds around the world to unite through the power of music, touring the nations and continents.
