That's correct it is vapor. The gas can't be seen unless in a bubbler. I had a dual unit that was doing 2.3lpm at 25 amps. Huge draw and never installed it in the car. Just way too much on the alterntor. Looking back at that it was a start at very very low output but as you said I did make ...
