CHICANOS was formed in January 1995 in Tarragona (a small city in Spain very near Barcelona ). After recording a first demo called "Sexy Chocolate" and performing their first live concerts, the band soon attracted the attention of a considerable number of fans and the local means of communication, from which they got very favourable reviews. After playing a lot of times in their hometown and the surroundings, the group started to make its way throughout Spain , apart from getting important prizes in all kinds of music competitions.
After a few changes in the members of CHICANOS , the band has been evolving in the style and has consequently improved in maturity and solidity. Due to the different influences of the members of the group, they are presently playing a very personal style although they keep very up-to-date sounds, structures and arrangements in their compositions, in which one can appreciate influences of very varied styles such as Rock, Grunge, Blues, Indie or even Pop.
Since 1995 CHICANOS has performed live almost a hundred times.
In July 1998 CHICANOS published their first début album called "Chicanos", which was entirely produced by CHICANOS . This record was edited by a very small independent Spanish record-company called REC-RECORDS, although CHICANOS does not presently have any contract with them . From this début album they also recorded a video-clip which has already been broadcast by some of the most important T.V stations in Spain .
From 1998 to 2005, CHICANOS has recorded 6 more demos including 12 tracks in each of them (some of the songs in Spanish and some in English). They are looking for a record label to publish their music
