@chewouch Boy it's been a long time since I posted here. I love 154CM actually, just hate S30V and D2 because of that brittleness factor; my favorite is VG-10, followed closely by 154CM/ATS 34 which I think is even better. @knifeNguns Yeah, ATS-34 is known as a great steel, that's why custom knifemakers use it so much. I know they say it's equal to 154CM, but I think the former is a little better. And yeah, the heat treatment is most important but I'd still trust the 0200 any day over the 0350 or 0400 ZT.

The steel certainly isn't the greatest, but the heat treatment matters more. It's a proven winner for a very cheap price but I hate the handle. I'd rather have by Buck CSAR-T or virtually any CRKT knife with me if was in a situation that this knife was designed for.

I have it too and it's a great knife. I only wish it just had the "Lawks", not auto. Other than that it can take anything you throw at it. There's still no better value for your money than CRKT and Cold Steel.

I just received this one and it's fantastic. I like it better than even the Zulu, but I wish it had a frame or liner lock.

I just got this knife and really like it. It's the same as the Perrin but with a different blade style and not as heavy. I prefer the Perrin since I like hefty knives.

@ekserchina They're just like plain Emersons...they charge a fortune for just so-so knives.

@MikeyDHS I have both and think the ZT would be best for heavy duty type stuff, but the Al Mar is really an excellent knife. I've never had a knife that opened so smoothly right out of the box.

Why does the blade not have "Ken Onion Design" on it like my plain edged one does? Is it because Onion now makes knives for CRKT??

If it's made for knives,then all big time brand names should be using it, right?And AUS 8 is the worst type of steel you can use? Tell that to Cold Steel Ontario, CRKT, the list goes on and on. @roaringwaterbay I have one and it's made in Taiwan so it's much better quality than if made in China.

It is indeed a monster. The 440C steel is good in the field as well. Get one you won't be sorry!

@Xynothan82 lol why are so many people against 440C?? I don't get it. It's a high performance steel.
