I am a chess enthusiast currently rated USCF 1965 and FIDE 1963. These videos are aimed at beginner-level players (to Elo 1400) and intermediate-level players (Elo 1400 - 1999)

Chess is primarily a game of skill, so you will see greater improvement if your study time is spent on problem-solving and analysis rather than passive reading or listening. You will notice I often ask questions in my "Chess Exercises" series. Most of these 10 minute videos will provide you with 20 to 30 minutes of skill-development training, depending on your level.

I also like turning my blunders into instructive exercises whenever possible. Exploring our mistakes is critical to improvement.

You will also see the ocassional goofy video with my daughter, as well as various other series such as "How To Play Chess", "The Bishop and Knight Mate", etc.

I look forward connecting with you through the wonderful world of the royal game, and let's improve our game together!

Nice compilation of videos Louis 'How to play chess (parts 1-4) so far :)

I enjoy watching videos like this even though I've been playing for a number of years, it's such a complex and fascinating game you never stop learning.

I liked how you split the game into various parts too with different videos and didn't bombard any possible new players watching with special moves or complex moves.

The commentary and diagrams you gave helps beginners a lot too.
