I think it was tail heavy. Almost all instructions guide you to make a tail heavy model. This means that controls are vague to say the least. Also this sort of model is a sod as a first trainer. Too fast and heavy. As for a simulato...

Flew my twinstar first time yesterday. No problem with stock motors on 2000 Lipo setup.
I ran in the motors for several hours on 1.5volt cells very slowly before installing in airplane. It makes loads of difference as the brushes bed in properly . Less sparking and more power.

A late reply but get the free FMS aimulator off the web and practice practice practice. Then buy an easy star.
Its the only way to go. After many years playing around with all things from vintage to modern self build I went that route and learned mor in a year than in the past...

All points are well made. I still am unsure about using a DSLR for video. Ok if you have just the one cam but if you are in a position to have a an SLR AND a video camera thats the best.
ALSO
Any chance you could run through the way you prepare video for Utube for best quality.
