About this user
A self-proclaimed product of the hip-hop movement, I have dedicated my life to hip-hop and its culture. I'm the older brother of hip-hop artist Tdk. My sister, Anika, is a student at University of Hawaii. Be on the lookout for my son, lil che', at 3 years old he has a sweet jumpshot and a deadly floater...the apple didn't fall to far from that tree, huh? I was a three-sport letterman at Las Vegas High School, where I played football, basketball and baseball. I went on to play semi-pro baseball out of high school. I attended The Ohio State University. I excelled on the hardwood for The Ohio State University-Newark, still holding the all-time record in three-point field goals made. I'm the second all-time leading scorer and assist leader in Ohio State University-Newark history. Ohio State (Newark) retired my jersey on February 26, 2001. I also played professional basketball in Cyprus, Greece. I am currently the Head Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. I spent the past season guiding the Las Vegas Venom of the ABA as their first ever Head coach and as an assistant to George Tarkanain for the Las Vegas Stars of the IBL. Three of the players that I brought in to play made the IBL All-Star team and one of them, Dajuan Tate was the league's second leading scorer 34.6 points per game. Tate is now playing professionally in China where he set a record for American players by scoring 68 points in a single game, shooting 28/34 from the field! I also spent last two seasons at Silverado High School guiding them to their first ever division title, and a ranking of 2nd in the state. Under Head Coach Ron Childress, we helped the Skyhawks to peak at the number 2 spot in the Nevada state polls. At Silverado I coached Heiden Ratner for two seasons, the 2005 Gatorade Nevada State Player of the Year; Ratner is currently playing at James Madison University. During the 2005 season I was the head assistant coach under Paul Bryant at Urbana University in Urbana, Ohio. Bryant was selected as the American Mideast Conference Coach of the Year. I spent three years under Anthony Gholson at Columbus State Community College from 2001-2004. The Cougars were ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA National poll the entire 2004 season and finished the year with a 29-2 record. At Silverado I coached Heiden Ratner for two seasons, the 2005 Gatorade Nevada State Player of the Year; Ratner is currently playing at James Madison University, and was recently selected the conference Rookie of the Week. At Columbus State I coached five players to 1st Team All-Conference honors. At the conclusion of the 2002 season Tim Brewer and Shawn Hawkins (Long Beach State) were selected 1st team. In 2003 Hawkins was named Conference Player of the Year and joined by John Davis on the 1st team. In 2004 Aaron Nixon was named Conference Player of the Year, as well as All-Region and All-American. John Davis and DaJuan Tate were All-Region and All-Conference selections as well. In 2006 Davis was named the Div. II South Region Player of the Year.In 2007 Nixon was named Big West Player of the Year and was later named a Div. I All-American by the Associated Press, he currently is playing professionally in Israel. That same year Tate was named to the IBL All-Star team and scored 37 points in the all-star game as a rookie. This Past season Tate played in China for the Jilin Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association, the same league that produced Yao Ming. Ta te scored a record 68 points in December. Nixon is currently playing professionally in Israel. I've also worked with many other players now playing professionally all overCountry
