In the mid-1970s we began, inspired mainly by later the Krautrock attributed experimental German bands, inserting our equipment intentionally into the artistic concept by using mostly home-built amplifiers and effect devices.

Now Musikmaschine is a cross between an experimental music project and an ordinary music band. Most existing recordings are more likely ascribe to the first. There were and there are also live-acts with various casts and an extremely large amount of musical improvisations.

So there are very different orientations from time to time. Predominantly you can classify the newer music to EDM and Electronica. By analog synthesizer sounds, often highly distorted guitar parts, and lyrics of cosmic space themes there also often is a vicinity to Space Rock. In addition you will perceive stronger influences of Trance, House, Post-Punk and Psychedelic Rock. The emergence of the compositions is often based on the philosophy of the Dada movement.
