About Me:

Built by the Escoussan family, the Langoiran Castle was one of the most prestigious sites in the region.
In the centre of the struggles between the Kings of England and France, the castle became the property of the french Royal Family at the end of the 15th century, in 1453, after which the presidents of the Bordeaux Parliament lived there from the end of the 16th century to the middle of the 17th.

from 13th to the 15th, the lords of Langoiran (Escoussan, Albret, Montferrand) obeyed kings of England and France, prince of Aquitaine. the most of them were members of the king's court and ambassador. Bertrand of Montferrand got married with Isabelle of Preissac (daughter of Soudan de La trau, member of Order of the Garter and Marguerite of Stratton, daughter of John of Stratton)
