Had these guys not turned down Woodstock for a previous commitment, they might have done extraordinarily well. By the time they gained national exposure, the band was imploding. Great collective in music, in spite of this.

He might not be perfect, but he is absolutely beautiful in his effort to make quality music.....Go Shakey!

Spirit was 20 years ahead of their time.... as their brand of Jazz/Rock fusion was more than just leading edge. It was cutting edge and remains undated art.

First heard Spirit on WBRU-Brown Univ radio(underground)...Providence, RI. The initial song was Mechanical World....which certainly got my attention. The devotion to their music has just grown in time. RIP Randy California....

@jarlabramuk Have you heard any Mogwai, Sigur Ros or any of the GSYBE progeny, like A Silver Mount Zion, Do Make Say Think or Set Fire to Flames. They're pretty much interchangable musicians. Lots of good PostRock out there....send me a note if you want more.

Both films succeed on their own merit. Difficult to compare them, objectively. Soundscore of this version is great and appropriate.
