In your more standard commercial recording studios, I'm sure they are but if you get into a major corporate studio doing the orchestral scoring for say a George Lucas film or whoever, odds are they'll be using Sequoia.
Sequoia/Samplitude has been around since 1992 making it probably the oldest multitrack program around. It was running at a whopping 24 bit processing in 1992 so just imagine how expensive the computers were at the time. This was before Windows when they were still using Amiga! 24 bits still isn't completely standardized on a commercial level just yet, only industrial. There's still plenty of 16 bit interfaces floating around since CD's can only produce 16 bit 44.1Khz audio.

Magix looks like a kids toy program so most musicians fiddle with it, decide it's a joke and scrap it.
The interface is designed that way on purpose though so anyone can use it and it's not intimidating.

Once you see past that though, you realize the interface is really intuitive and advanced, much better than Sony Acid, Fruity Loops etc.
I've tried everything including Sequoia audio which is the most widely used studio program by major film studios and elite recording studios.
Turns out, Magix makes Sequoia.
