Drummelskrud. I was about to click like because I liked the tones you were using, but the blatant wrong notes at 13s and again at 22s has me now not even listening to the rest of the song... c'mon man... not a hard song to get right.

@GiocosoGlissando All the other versions you've heard are too slow! (in my opinion of course, I play it quite a bit faster actually) This guy comes close to making it dance (it actually probably would if it weren't for that awful keyboard tone). I like your tempo chopinvirtuoso.

Excellent job, JD! Vibrato even! I have a violin student that makes very similar facial expressions when concentrating. :-)

@chappyfoe I totally agree. The first word that came to mind when I heard this was "wretched." There is nothing remotely impressive about what's happening here.

What percentage are you at now? I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the fugue as I love what you've done with it so far (plus it's one of my favorites)!

@karissagirlrocks1 I'm sorry but years of experience disagree. Unless the rosin is old and has too much moisture (in which case don't use it) all it takes are repeated drawings of the bow over the surface of new rosin to start a good rosining surface. Scratching your rosin is just a good way to...

Yep... sounds like a Fender Mandolin... that is to say... not very good.

Enjoyed this immensely as always! There's another harpsichord piece lurking in the back of mind that I think would work marvelously on mandolin. Can't put my finger on it right now though.

Liked this performance for the most part. Although that was NOT my idea of Allegro Maestoso in the final movement there. Methinks Mr. Koopman has been conducting too much period music.

@judzineck Is it the role of music to always be beautiful? I'd suggest that to think so is pretty short-sighted. I love "Check the Rhime" by Tribe Called Quest... is it beautiful? Absolutely not. I think Testament completely rocks... does their music contain much beauty? NO. Similarly, I do...
