You weren't lying about the radon PSA being scary! I'm glad I didn't see it as a kid. This ranks up there with the American Cancer Society's "Smoking Fetus" and the PSA comparing huffing to drowning (which literally shows a little girl drowning in her bedroom) on the creepiness scale.

That tune Hamburglar plays at the end of the McDonald's commercial sounds an awful lot like the "Did Somebody Say McDonald's" jingle in the late 90s/early 2000s. I wonder if it was a coincidence, or if that tune was actually recycled for the latter jingle.

The music sounds like there was supposed to be more to it, like it was cut off abruptly.

I remember the Reis Targo in Nordeast. It was right across the street from that fleabag Hi-Lo Motel, on the border with Clumsy Heights.

Now I know I'm not the only one who was reminded of TV news when hearing this. The intro sounds somewhat like the teletype effect common in news themes.

I wonder how they created that sound effect.

Was the Screen Gems logo you included a remix? It seems to be a lot louder and harsher than I remember hearing. That logo never scared me, but it would have with the louder version of the music!

Oh. My. God. I thought America had some scary closing logos. This one takes the cake. Viacom's V of Doom and the Screen Gems S From Hell have NOTHING on the VID mask. The first part of it before the mask appears reminds me of the video featured in "The Ring". You can almost hear your phone ringin...

@drh4683 That would be a big advantage today. The round screen hides those stupid logo bugs on every channel. One less bit of clutter.

You can also piss off the hot dog vendor by shooting him with the slingshot. He would bang the counter with a fork or something to get Pac Man's attention, then douse him with ketchup in retaliation. Pretty funny.

@helloasswipes Yeah, leave it to Viacom to come up with a great concept, only to wreck it a few years later. Just like they did to MTV when they removed almost ALL music programming, in favor of reality crap. Sad, sad, sad.

@PrincessKumatora I didn't like this scene either. One of my cats looked almost identical to this one as a kitten. So this scene really hit a nerve with me.
