The Ceefax tape on that day was Nature Trail (sourced from Mozart Edition library material).

Track 8 of the tape, Flat Foot, by Howard Hawks and his Orchestra is the track faded out over the BBC 1 clock...

The track is from FUN(tastik Music) CD 1001 (Contemporary Instrumentals 1), track 11 and the CD title is Times Square....

Hey, the music is the sound of the "Blue Ridge Mountain" by Mike Maxfield, fresh out of Nashville, via Cheshire!!! Track 4 from the Ceefax tape Country Express, used on BBC2 in the late 80's...

Ah, the music is the Linha Singers from Czechoslovakia. It's the minuet from the Toy symphony by Mozart. The track was paired up with the Allegro from Handel's Water Music on the interval cartridge (2 LP tracks spliced together to make a 5' 24" long track).

T'was a fine thing that the tech assistant or continuity person would fade the Ceefax tape being played and bang in a link track cartridge to give a clean musical finish to a Ceefax broadcast. (blimey! they seemed to care about what they were doing).

The year started, Ceefax music wise with the Chacksfield tape Horizons, stopped at the end of track 8 (How is it a Pretty Girl)?, about 23 minutes into the compilation.

The Ceefax music faded on track 7 of the tape "Colours", entitled Montego Bay.

Yep, dead right. Having spoken to some of the composers involved, that is the intended use for most background music.

I say "new" as in inimitable BBC style, there were a lot of repeated track from earlier Ceefax compilations in the tape...

Hmm, must check but this seems like a case of non standard music being played with Ceefax, perhaps off a CD...

Nice spot Visonu on the chopin origins of the Latin Bossa sounds that the "Brian Mallon Group" play on some of these clip...

The music got a little further this morning - fading at the end of track 7 of Twilight Break, the Funtastik produced Look Away (erm, that's the cue sheet title anyway).

Didn't realise Adam Shaw was on the early Business news shift back then...

Man alive, they wern't exactly showing much Ceefax during this period- the music fades right at the end of track 3 (Round The World) from the tape Europa Time.

Ah, well the track is a Funtastik Music one, from the BBC 1 and 2 tape (later mini disc) Slide Rule, track 6, titled Twenty Third and Fifth...

...But that's not it's real title...

That was the best ever set of schools idents, and was fresh and innovative (yeah, not words you'd link with ITV today, huh?).
