I applaud Anatolians. Avoid maremmas which have no sense of threats and bark at nothing. See my video at ccoins102 for a sample of a maremma being a maremma.

I have seen both working and Anatolians are top dog for LGD and very sociable.

@fatdaddyherb Would you keep 6 maremmas on 6 acres for breeding purposes as the breeder at Peavine Hollow in VA does? There are more responsable breeders than this from what I have researched who are LESS concerned about money and more with dog training/care.

@rcsurfing I agree with you if train them they would comply. It is when they are left untrained and neglect as the breeder at Peavine Hollow in Va does that they become a nuisance. They do have a louder bark though which is ok on large acreage but not 1/2 acre!
