I think this would have been better mic'ed with an sm57 on a nice 12 inch speaker. If it was, than there is something wrong with the settings.

The Tubeman shines on a Guns n' Roses or a Pantera sound in the rock full gain setting. It is not designed, in my opinion, for subtle clipping as this audio byte would suggest. Wicked crunch (like a cranked Marshall 1000 w head) is what this pedal is trying to achieve, and it does it quite well.
