@roidroid Cast iron is also rather brittle naturally. It will flex very little at room temperature, so the effect you speak of is diminished greatly.

How many flutes on this drill? I often drill aluminum with 3flute Guhring drills at .004 chip load and that leaves me room for improvement. That'd be 90ipm at 7500rpm.

Trochoidal paths are often used for slotting operations and are really only applicable in pocketing. This is a very simple visualization tool to see just how trochoidal cuts are done, no need to over think it.

A set of semi tires would last a pickup a lifetime...a little smoke show isn't a big deal for those on this truck.

@AunShovah The upper spindle is a dedicated milling spindle that is likely more rigid, that's why it's used for the finishing. The lower 'spindle' looks like a typical lathe turret with a live tool holder installed for this particular application. So it doesn't appear to be a custom suited machin...

@caulk04 Also, do the chips stay silver or do they turn colors after hitting the chip pan? I often make chips that come off so fast they are silver, but turn blue/purple once they land.

@zman4ish The smaller one would have been the wastegate that is used to control boost. It bleeds off excess exhaust pressure that isn't needed to spin the turbo. Usually it's plumbed into the exhaust after the turbo, but in this application, it's better to have its own exhaust.

@Bdscoobyr Just happened across this again...you really are a fool. 2JZ is an INLINE engine. NOT a V. So in summary, the 2JZ is not a V6 and cannot be the best sounding V6, because it is not. Did you get that yet? It's not a V6. K? Thanks. Bye.
