there are special hoses that you don't need to bleed the air out because it don't let air in the hoses...but his are not like that he should have don't that...and you need to close the refrigerant tank before taking out the gage

Mike a compressor that has failed mechanically not electrically could trip the breaker as well..It would draw to much amperage trying to start the compressor but maybe the pistons are locked or whatever the case is inside the compressor but it will trip the breaker
