Incredible; I'm glad at least some of the residents were able to get to safety.
This video shows one of the few areas of Minamisanriku that wasn't destroyed by the tsunami, the Marawitate neighborhood across the river.
It is really incredible how fast that horrible thing came up on everyone... :(

I went here last month, and saw Kamaishi for myself. I went to the very spot where this video was shot... they've cleaned up all the debris, the city office is buzzing, and I've never met nicer people in my life. I truly cannot imagine the horror they witnessed...
