Graduated from the National film & Television School on 2006 with an MA in animation Direction with the animated short film "Synchronoff", which was shortlisted to the Students Oscars in 2006, won 5 prizes and two nominations, among 50 international festivals selection.
Catia was born in the warm city of Lisbon in Portugal and studied at three great schools, as the Design School- IADE , Calouste Gulbenkian Foudation, In Portugal and the National Film & Television School,in the UK. Alain Corbel (Belgium illustrator), Jose Miguel Ribeiro (Portuguese director and winner of Cartoon D'Or 2004), Carlos Costa & Roberto Barbosa (IADE) in Portugal, and Paul Bush, Ruth Lingford, Caroline Leaf, Gillian Lacey, Phil Mulloy, and Mark Baker in the UK were some of her teachers and people who guided her and inspired her.
