Mission Statement:
'They came in all shapes and sizes to celebrate their beauty like never before.

The Shape of Black was originally created to serve as a visual dialogue about beauty. The installation's goal is to provide an outlet and inspiration for ALL women and give them an OPPORTUNITY to show that the world that They feel and ARE beautiful no matter WHAT todays generational stereotypes are.

Women of color, all ages and shapes are taking part in the process of making The Shape of Black happen. In a Brooklyn photo studio women that were Mothers, Teachers, Entrepreneurs, Artists etc all gathered to participate in making images that reflect our struggles as women. Our goal was to offer women a safe environment where
the they could embrace their bodies with love and project modern feminine values in a most Honest and tasteful way.

Will they provoke?
They will show you the REAL definition of BEAUTY.
