About this user

Christianity owes its origins to the humble, the weak, the innocent and the downtrodden. The Second Person of the Holy Trinity came, not as a pharisee or some Jewish prince, but as the son of a carpenter in an insignificant Palestinian village; and then became a wandering preacher. His Blessed Mother, our most holy and revered saint, was merely a deeply religious girl, a child herself when she gave birth to the Lord.
Christianity was then known as the religion of slaves-Christians were rounded up, tortured, fed to wild beasts or simply executed because hey were seen as inferior beings, unworthy to be Imperial subjects; this perception would only change when Christianity became legal, and people could be converted without retribution. The glorious message of Christ, the beauty of the faith and the wonder and majesty of the Catholic religion was delivered freely and safely.

Today, it is this humble aspect of the church which continues to show how truly honourable our religion is, and why we are proud to call ourselves Catholic. Jesuits, Franciscans, Capuchins, Carmelites, Augustinians, all participate in missions and charity work where they give their life to, quoting Mother Teresa, the poorest of the poor. How sad it is to hear humankind ridicule Christianity today! Even when the church is led by holy men, saints loved by everyone, like John Paul II.

I urge all Catholics to first of all strive to become as holy as possible, and then to spread this goodness of heart to other, not so much through wrangling debates with anti theists and haters, but through good example and good faith and prayer.
