About this user
I am vegetarian who only eats raw fruits,veggies,nuts,seeds-once a month I like to get a vegan treat like vegan ice cream or vegan cookies. I eat raw vegetarian for nutritional reasons & ethical (I don't like to exploit animals, though I still have some stuff that comes from animals, ie: hiking shoes)- I'm working toward vegan lifestyle)
I'm intrigued by left/right brain topics-I mainly only use the left hand at whatever activities I do-to get the right brain, left body balanced, coordinated, dexterous, I use it as a mindfulness activity-"Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" is a good book to find out more on right brain.
music-Too much great music & art to keep up with & more is probably being created this moment.
politics-I am progressive in my political views-I favor socialist approaches to solving problems of society-I like the Green party, & democratic Socialists & I like resource economy ideas proposed by Zeitgeist movement & Venus project.
If it comes down between democrat or republican, then I vote democrat -
I'm not prepared to be an activist but I try sign petitions & vote for or against laws/bills that I like or don't & I like to share my opinion within the public discourse.
work-I receive SSI benefits for Mental Health reasons. I'm a member of Mindfreedom International- I'm for Mad Pride.
I'm strongly against forced Electroshock Therapy
& Forced drugging of psychiatric patients of all ages-especially children-
Passions-I practice music every day-I get a couple hours in of Singing, guitar mostly, but I'm trying to keep my piano ,harmonica, clarinet knowledge stewing-Id like to someday become very skilled at music-especially piano. It takes a lot of practice. My musical & art strategy is based in regular practice & repetition. Practicing improvisation & scales & arpeggios-& I devise my own idiosyncratic musical meditations using a metronome-paying attention & exploring different dynamics-Some days I'll miss practicing-for 1 reason or another.I don't like to miss any but if I do then I start right back up-every minute of practice counts-I try to make each scale even the simplest, shortest note as mindful & as high of energy & quality as possible-I still make lots of errors-and get off track but I hope through regular practice to slowly progress over time-
-I try to learn as much as possible about science, history, philosophy, art, culture etc.I have intellectual aspirations, but I don't I identify as an intellectual.I'm a slow/gradual learner-someday maybe I'll know enough to qualify as one.
I love yoga & have been practicing daily for eight years-I practice at home & mainly-study DVD's of Rodney Yee,Baron Baptiste,Sean Corn,Carol Carlson,Shiva Rea,Duncan Wong-I'm still learning the Sanskrit names of the poses-Yoga is so beneficial its hard to get it across to people who don't do it -
I also perform daily exercise routine that includes running, jumping on an urban rebounder, strength exercise like pull ups,chin-ups,push-ups,calisthenics like hopping, skipping,Jumping jacks--intuitive dance, rhythmic movement meditation

Religion-I'm on the God friendly end of the spectrum of agnosticism-I agree with many criticisms of religions-but I also think there are good sides to religion, & that there is wisdom to be gained from studying it or practicing it, but I still agree with many of the criticisms voiced about the repressive & superstitious sides of religion & when it's misused-
-I've never knowingly belonged to any cult/club & I believe in being an individual.
I was raised Catholic-I'm not practicing anymore because I disagree with the supernatural beliefs as well as certain aspects dealing with sexuality & other things that I feel are repressive or unnecessary -many Catholics do great things & there are very good people who are Catholic & I don't want to seem to put them down.
I don't believe in magic or superstition when it comes to any religion or belief.I do believe there are things in natural reality that we do not understand fully about ourselves or nature. If God exists I don't think s/he damns people for not knowing.
I think "God" is part of nature-not outside it & that our expectations of God may not match the reality of what God is-if God exists--that's why I say I'm a God friendly agnostic.I respect people of faith, especially ones who's hearts are in the place.
I like the Tao Te Ching the most from modest religious studies.
