Cameron Summers currently lives in New York City pursuing a M.M. in Jazz Trumpet at the Manhattan School of Music where he studies with Jon Faddis. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Christian University while freelancing in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as a professional trumpeter and pianist. He is an alumnus of both the Henry Mancini Institute and the Disneyland All-American College Band in Anaheim, California. Summers recently toured the United States with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra playing principal trumpet and made a solo appearance on the CBS Early Show. Awards include performance credits on a 2007 Grammy-nominated jazz album (Patrick Williams' Elevation), three-time finalist in the jazz division of the National Trumpet Competition, an International Trumpet Guild Scholarship and IAJE Southwest Conference All-Star Collegiate Big Band. Most recently, Summers was selected as a semifinalist in the My Grammy Moment 2008 contest and will be flown to Los Angeles to perform with the Foo Fighters on the Grammy stage.
