I spoke with more than one Spyderco rep at SHOT this year regarding the delay in production. The handles were originally colored by heat treating them, but apparantly that process would warp the scales. They will now be using electricity to color the scales and production should be forthcoming....

Actually while the prototype that guy is holding is S30V, production will be D2 steel. If thats not confusing enough, this knife is a copy of the Lone Wolf knife (recently acquired by Benchmade) called the D2 which was made out of S30V. Yes it will be available without the serrations.
