Hi, i play bass, i've been playing now for 15 years and, until recently, I've been entirely self taught. I've just finished studying at The Institute in Kilburn, London. Last year I won the Ernie Ball Music Man bass scholarship and I now have a column in the UK based Bass Guitar Magazine talking about my experience on the course.
I'm available for tuition for people based in the London, UK area -- send me a message if you're interested!
I largely use a Warwick Corvette bass, standard gauge nickel strings and a fair helping of compression. I also own a 5 String Lakland Skyline which I use when playing in my band. The kind people at Music Man have also given me a Stingray bass, which is great and I'm using that more and more.
For recording these videos, until recently, I've been using the Pandora PX4D and recording into my mac using iMovie through the iSight built in camera.
I have now purchased the Pandora PX5D and i'm recording into Quicktime using a Logitech 9000 webcam. I then take this HD footage into iMovie to edit and export.
I hope you find the videos i've uploaded inspiring. Check out the great bass favourites and i'm now also on http://playbassnow.com in the guest teachers section.
