CASH (Caribbean Affordable Solar House)

The University of Puerto Rico is proud to be a fourth time participant at the Solar Decathlon, an event organized by the U.S. Department of Energy and its National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

CASH | Our CARIBBEAN AFFORDABLE SOLAR HOUSE has been developed from the knowledge and experience obtained from our previous experiences. This year we are bringing forward the issues of identity, economics, solar technology and domesticity.

Our house is an example of how to live in the Caribbean with a completely solar and sustainable house that is economically feasible and adaptable, thus proving that CASH is green!

Among the selected group of participants, the University of Puerto Rico is one of only two teams to have participated in the four times the competition has been held.

IWith our experience, this year we plan to be among the very best groups to be at the competition!
